Apprenticeship Program

Welcome to our Tattoo Artist Apprenticeship Program! Whether you aspire to become a professional tattoo artist or pursue tattooing as a passionate hobby, our comprehensive course is designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the tattoo industry.

Program Highlights

  1. Personalized Instruction: With a maximum of 5 students per class, you will receive one-on-one attention from the instructor, ensuring a thorough understanding of each concept.
  2. Comprehensive Learning: Systematically learn the entire tattoo process, build a solid knowledge base, and set yourself up for success.
  3. Industry Insights: Gain the most up-to-date information in the tattoo industry from our master tattooist.
  4. Expert Guidance: The master will share personal past experiences and address common mistakes new learners make, so you don’t repeat them.
  5. Hands-On Practice: Depending on your progress, you may have the opportunity to tattoo a person under the instructor’s supervision during the class.

Who Should Attend?

This program is ideal for anyone interested in starting a career in tattooing or learning the basics of tattoo art. No prior knowledge is necessary. Note: You must be over 18 to apply for the class.

Course Outline

  • Introduction to Tattoo Machines and Needles
  • Basic Tattoo Design using Procreate (iPad and Apple Pencil required)
  • Skin Preparation and Stencils
  • Tattoo Needles 101
  • Tattoo Machines 101
  • Tattoo Ink - Greywash and Basic Color Ink Characteristics
  • Setting Up Your Tattoo Station
  • Basic Tattoo Techniques - Focus on small tattoos
  • Tattoo Aftercare

You will begin by practicing on a piece of fake skin and, as you progress, you will have the opportunity to tattoo under the supervision of the instructor.

Schedule

The program consists of 10 hours per week over a four month period. Scheduling is flexible to accommodate your preferred meeting times. Once you are match with an instructor, you will coordinate with your instructor for scheduling sessions.

Pricing

The cost of the program is $180 per week, paid every Friday. We require $180 deposit to reserve your spot. Accepted payment methods: Cash, Venmo, Zelle.

Professional Tattoo Kit

The course includes a complete set of professional tattoo equipment and supplies:

  • Stencil Transfer Machine
  • Paper Towels
  • Plastic Wrap
  • Small Metal Tray
  • MediCide
  • Alcohol Pads
  • Saniderm/Second Skin

Note: Although an iPad and Apple Pencil are not required to design tattoos, they are highly recommended for ease and precision. Designing custom tattoos for your clients will be significantly easier using Procreate on an iPad. If possible, this is a recommended investment for your career.
